Maria - 8B on regular A4 paper
Maria is not a professional model but rather a law student who likes to paint. This was her first time posing.
She's young and was still a bit shy, but did a fine job at it.
On this day, I wasn't also on my best, but eventually locked into the groove and produced some fine sketches IMHO.
All in all, this was a session full of rushed sketches, adding to what was already a very stressful week for me, but the newly learned skill of "blocking out" the shapes first really helped.
My favorite from this session. A 22 minute pose with her leaning very softly against the wall.
This 25 minute pose is fine, but her face gave me a lot of trouble - particularly the eyes. That's something I need more practice with. Notice she was feeling code and thus, kept her socks on.
Once again, trouble with the eyes and general expression. On this 12 minute pose, I think the hair came out nicely. She had very beautiful hair and shoulders. I tried my best to capture this.
On this 16 minute pose, she was sitting on a chair. Unfortunately, after the drawing, some stray graphite shard made a very fine streak against her forehead that wasn't from me.
For this 5 minute pose, I was already warm and, given the little time we had, managed to capture the general shapes of her torso. I didn't have time to finish it.
This 5 minute pose was the first one and I was still a bit shaky from a very stressed week. I didn't have time to finish it.
On this 5 minute pose, it might look like she had both her arms in the air, but actually, her left arm was resting against her stomach. I didn't have time to finish it.
